I’m a self-employed creative planner, consultant and project manager for artists, media services and brands. I love to do good things for even better people, on a mission to wipe out mediocrity, forever.
Half-hearted is never an option, it’s either do or die, death or glory. I believe that small is beautiful and that less is a good thing as it stimulates creativity. A decathlon is just not for me, I’d rather reduce things to the core and get them right. “First the dough, then the sugo”. While I’m never satisfied and like to put things in question that others might regard as given, “good enough” is fine for me. Embracing your own mistakes is cool but I prefer to learn from my successes. I strongly believe that EVERYTHING is marketing, digital is not the enemy and music streaming is the greatest thing since sliced bread. “CwF+RtB” is a religion (kudos to Mike Masnick) and Scrum and Kanban over MS Project, anytime. Enough with the pathos already…!
I’ve worked for digital media service provider finetunes for the last 5 years as Project Manager and Head of Client Relations. If you’re interested in the various projects that I started and oversaw during this time please check out my project portfolio. Before that I have studied “Popular Music and Media” at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold where I also worked in a record store and earned my living being a club DJ. I still dj on a regular basis and have never stopped the digging.
My musical influences have always been more than diverse. Starting with classical piano training at the age of 5, moving on to guitar playing soon led to finding myself playing in a Hardcore band, learning that Vegan X Straight Edge means more than ordering fries and a coke at McD’s. At the same time my walkman was filled with some proper Hiphop-mixtapes (it was the 90ies!) while the first Jazz records started to pile up on the shelves at home. Skateboarding has been most influential all the time and so was going to the first House & Techno clubs at the tender age of 16. I also developed a growing appreciation for Frank Sinatra and his perfect timing and timbre in the course of studying at the University for Music, but that’s just a side story. Let’s drop some names, shall we?
Gorilla Buiscuits, Jay-Z, Holy Ghost!, Iron Butterfly, Gwen McCrae, D’Angelo, Genesis, Danny Krivit, Miles Davis, Absolute Beginner, Joyce Sims, Wu-Tang Clan, Kenny Dope, Gang Starr, Unbroken, Brass Construction, Bolt Thrower, Aaliyah, John Coltrane, Suicidal Tendencies, Pete Rock, Strife, Public Enemy, The Smiths, Beastie Boys, Mary J. Blige, Motor City Drum Ensemble, The Clash, Debbie Deb, Boot Camp Click, Zapp & Roger, Parliament, Robert Glasper, Siriusmo, Big Pun, Daft Punk, Armand van Helden, Paula Abdul, Todd Terry, A Tribe Called Quest, Oasis, The Sisters Love, Marvin Gaye, Dipset, A$AP Rocky, Big L, Bush Babees, Chromeo, Roy Ayers, The Bar-Keys, Erykah Badu,… too many to name them all.
Don’t be a stranger, let’s be friends.
I love meeting new people and exchanging ideas as much as I love cooking, typography, social media, Yogasessions in the morning, screenprints, premium clothing with great attention to detail, XO cognac, perfect espresso and going ham with my dogs in the public parks of Hamburg – the usual stuff.
